Description

TWI CrackWise is software for studying and evaluating the mechanics of failure in solids based on the BS 7910 standard. Fracture mechanics or crack mechanics is a branch of solids mechanics that studies issues such as the process of creating and spreading cracks in solids and structures and its effect on deformation, depreciation and deterioration of structures. This branch of mechanics has been studied from two points of view of mechanics, namely in continuous and discrete environments. This science is widely used in shipbuilding, structural construction, especially concrete, geophysics and geology, mechanical engineering and medical engineering. Research based on this branch of mechanics has been presented over time in the form of various standards, the most important and acceptable of which in the industry is BS 7910.

This standard defines equations based on which the horizontal component of damage assessment diagrams, stresses on pipes and solid structures can be calculated. Using this program, you can calculate and evaluate pipes for flat defects such as defects in metal welds. The reason for this type of defect in welding engineering is the lack of melting and sufficient penetration of the metal into the welding grooves.

Installation

After installation, copy and replace the files in the Crack folder in the program installation location; Run the program and select the Try mode, and in the next step, fill in the required information as desired and confirm.
